Wakefield is very well connected with excellent train links. You can be in Leeds in 10 minutes or London in less than 2 hours. It's also very accessible by car. The city is accessible by 3 junctions of the M1 motorway and has the M1/M62 interchange, meaning areas such as Sheffield, Leeds, Hull and Manchester are all easily within reach.

There is a lot of regeneration taking place in the city centre. There is a heritage zone with renovation taking place on numerous historic buildings. Wakefield's waterfront area is becoming a destination of choice. The Hepworth is a fantastic arts venue and the former derelict Rutland Mills has been regenerated into a creative hotspot as well as having bars and restaurants. It's also home to the hugely successful Peddler market.
